Customer Reviews for KitchenAid 600 Series Mixer
For the price, this is DA BOMB! - A reliable machine. It gets a workout on an almost daily basis in our household. No complaints! I like the elegant design, which accentuates rather than detracts from kitchen decor. I also suggest purchasing the ice cream maker attachment, we've had lots of fun trying unusual flavors like green tea and ginger. Yum!
Don't Wait - I've waited years to get my mixer. This year I treated myself with my tax return. I'm wondering why I waited so long! It makes mixing up to 4 loaves at a time a cinch. Christmas cookies are going to be fun, like when I helped my grandma mix and bake her cookies with her stand mixer back in the 1950's. I love my KitchenAid 600 Pro Mixer.
This is a GREAT mixer - My family has been using KitchenAid stand mixers since 1953 and this latest one is vastly improved. The flour capacity has been increased from 8 to 14 cups. It has a slow speed control that keeps freshly added flour and liquid from spilling out. The new dough spiral (not a hook anymore) is great and keeps the dough from creeping up onto the powerhead like on the older models.

KitchenAid 600 - Prince of Mixers
Quality stand mixers have been the cornerstone of KitchenAid's success for the last 90 years. Since 1919 and the original H5 stand mixer, they have consistently produced heavyweight mixers used in the worlds top kitchens whilst never losing that sense of style.
The KitchenAid 600 Pro stand mixer is the embodiment of all that has become expected of the brand. With just this one powerful tool, you can mix almost anything, including bread dough, the nemesis of many lesser stand mixers. Aesthetically also, KitchenAid has always stood out, the styling and color range are now instantly recognizable with a touch of retro that harks back to it's 1930's predecessor.
When put through it's paces by the renowned America's Test Kitchen, the KitchenAid 600 came through with flying colors. It boasts a powerful 575 watt motor, a 12 pint mixing bowl and a robust all metal construction. The large capacity bowl means you can mix as much as fourteen cups of flour in one go or mash up to eight pounds of potato. And if home baked bread is your thing, the new power knead dough hook will effortlessly knead twice as much as most normal mixers.
Incorporating a sliding 10 speed control button, the KitchenAid 600 Pro can be easily controlled to stir very slowly or whip at high speed. There is also a soft start setting which accelerates the mixer slowly so as not to send all your ingredients flying. Any of us that have ever 'worn' the contents of the bowl after starting the mixer too fast will appreciate the beauty of this.
As with all previous KitchenAid mixers, the 600 professional has a front mounted accessory connection behind a hinged metal flap. Some of the additional attachments you can get are a juicer, pasta roller and extruder and a grain miller amongst others.A new wider mouthed bowl is also a blessing as amongst other benefits, it is now much easier to add ingredients to the bowl whilst the mixer is running.
To protect the motor, your KitchenAid 600 is fitted with overload protection to stop the mixer if senses a fault. All the internal gearing is metal for strength and reliability. A warranty is often the last thing the consumer considers but you can sleep soundly with the one year parts and labor warranty provided and the knowledge that if there is a problem in this time, KitchenAid will simply replace your mixer with a new one, no quibbling, and even pay the freight.
If you also believe that your kitchen needn't be a style wasteland consider the KitchenAid 600 for your next mixer.
